I was glad to see the catholic bishops rejected hhs's latest "accommodation - but really think the church is reaping what it has sown . For decades they have wedded themselves to the democrat party. Never speaking against or refusing the sacrament to pro abortion politicians...now they are surprised when pro abortion policies catch them up..

Ok here's the problem with the whole"vote the bums out" .. Who you gonna vote out? I get to pick my congressman, two senators and a president. I like my cm- McClintock is voting the way I want, he's a conservative. I have never vote for Boxer or Feinstein nor Pres Obama ... You can only be responsible and vote FOR people you don't get to vote out the ones you don't like.

So for the most part, in almost every way, I FUNDAMENTALLY disagree with Pres. Obama's philosophy and politics. With that said, there is ONE unintended consequence of his presidency that I think has been great for this county.
It is the mainstreaming of people in color. In commercials, TV shows and movies the blacks and Hispanics have been highlighted, instead of just being the folks in the background, they are now the faces in the foreground.. and they are just regular normal real people.
It will be 50 years since the "I have a dream" speech was given in August 1963, its been a long ugly 50 years, but maybe the dream is becoming part of the waking world.
I hope so... it's about time....

So the right leaning pundits and some in the tea party are threatening that they will force the republicans out in the House in 2014 if they don't somehow (with only 1/3 of the legislative power???) make deep cuts in spending... how stupid are these people??? do they think the Democrats will reduce spending AT ALL?
I agree I think spending should be cut, but let's be real here... the House has no more power in Washington that the Republican members of the CA legislation... they can't even be spoilers because of the way Washington works... the spending is institutional. It cannot be cut in real terms, the rate of increase can only be reduced and that takes all 3 branches. If all 3 branches don't agree, the PRIOR budgets keep rolling along... what was the last budget? 2009 when the Democrats had all 3 branches and increased spending from a deficit of about $500 billion to $1.4 trillion.
The only reason its down to $1.2 trillion is more taxes.
Come on Right Side... get your heads out of your behinds and THINK!
