I hate this "but Romney isn't a TRUE conservative"... why? I don't understand what some of these folks think is a "true" conservative. Seems some of them think if you are not evangelical, or "born again" or want to peek into everyones bedroom, you aren't conservative... well I'm conservative, but I'm not evangelical, not "born again", not a church goer, and I don't care what you do in your private life as long as you don't hurt anyone... 1. As a libertarian I think it's good that Romney isn't a social conservative. But unfortunately he's not an economic conservative either. Exhibit A of course is RomneyCare, and his support for mandates. Also, as governor he almost doubled corporate tax rates. Taxes in Massachusetts went up about $700 million under Romney, with the per capita tax burden rising $1,175. He was part of a coalition lobbying Washington to tax internet activity. He didn't support the Bush tax cuts. He has a long history of supporting liberal democrats like Paul Tsongas.

The most important job of the next president will be to appoint Supreme Court justices who believe in a government of limited, enumerated powers, and I've found no reason to believe that he's inclined to do so.

The only credible reason to vote Romney is that he isn't Obama. And given that he'll damage the Republican brand even further, likely returning power to liberals, even that isn't compelling.

    1. He may not be a libertarian, but neither is most of America. I really don't care that he signed legislation in his state that raised fees and even that he signed "Romney Care"... just like I don't care that Perry signed legislation to give In State tuition breaks to illegals. States do what they do for their own needs. But of the 8 that ran for the Republican nomination, he most matches what I want in a President, should I just not vote since no one is a perfect candidate? We all must make that choice for ourselves. RD.
